Empowering communication through authentic connection
Welcome!
Hello! I’m Allie. I’m a speech therapist and AAC specialist based in Denver, Colorado.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens and adults communicate and connect with the world around them. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a space where communication can grow in ways that feel authentic and meaningful.
I am licensed in both Colorado and New York and have worked with children, teens and adults aged 2–20 across home, school, and clinical settings. My experience includes supporting individuals with autism, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive and expressive language differences, genetic conditions, and complex communication needs.
A special area of my practice is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). I have extensive experience with PRC-Saltillo systems (Unity, LAMP Words for Life,TouchChat), AssistiveWare products (Proloquo and Proloquo2Go) and Tobii Dynavox (TD Snap). I am also trained in motor speech approaches for childhood apraxia of speech, including Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) and Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC). I am a Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) Trained Clinician and have specialized experience supporting gestalt language learners.
Collaboration is at the heart of my work. I believe the greatest progress happens when individuals and the people who support them feel heard, confident, and empowered. In addition to therapy, I provide consultations and professional trainings for families, behavior therapists, occupational and physical therapists, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other professionals. Trainings are individualized to each team and focus on practical, everyday strategies for supporting speech, language, multimodal communication, and AAC.

AAC includes the many ways we communicate in addition to or instead of spoken language. This may include gestures, signs, pictures, communication boards, or speech-generating devices.
AAC support is individualized to each person and focuses on building autonomous, meaningful communication across everyday environments. There are no prerequisites for AAC, and using AAC does not prevent or limit the development of spoken language.
Services may include:
Comprehensive AAC evaluations and device trials
Individualized AAC system selection and customization
Support with obtaining a speech-generating device
AAC therapy and implementation
Parent, caregiver, educator, and team coaching
Supporting communication across home, school, and community environments
AAC support for gestalt language processors
-
Some individuals learn and develop language in larger chunks or phrases, known as gestalts, rather than beginning with single words. Gestalt language processing is a natural way of developing language and may include the use of delayed echolalia, scripts, familiar phrases, or language from favorite people, shows, songs, and experiences.
Therapy focuses on recognizing the meaning and communicative intent behind these gestalts while supporting the development of increasingly flexible, self-generated language.
-
Speech refers to how we produce sounds and coordinate the movements needed for spoken communication. Some individuals may have difficulty producing certain sounds, organizing sound patterns, or planning and coordinating the movements needed for speech.
Therapy is individualized to each person's strengths and communication goals, with an emphasis on building confidence and supporting clearer, more effective communication.
-
Language is how we understand, organize, and share ideas with others. Receptive language refers to how we understand information, while expressive language refers to how we communicate our thoughts, ideas, wants, and experiences.
Therapy builds upon each individual's strengths while supporting language skills that help them participate, connect, learn, and communicate more independently.
-
Social communication is about connecting and communicating with others in ways that feel authentic and meaningful. These skills can look different for every individual, and therapy should honor each person's communication style rather than teach them to mask or conform to neurotypical social expectations.

I am currently a private-pay, out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly.
A superbill can be provided for families who wish to submit claims to their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies depending on your individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.
I encourage families to contact their insurance provider to learn more about their out-of-network speech-language therapy benefits.
